Services for Parents 
Smart Start Rowan provides families with the education, information and resources to assist them as their child’s first and most important teacher.

Child Care Resource and Referral
• Assists parents looking for child care by providing referrals
• Provides a resource center with books, learning toys and materials for parents
• Offers parent education workshops
• Implements "De Madres a Madres": Parent education and English as a Second language classes for Latino moms, in cooperation with the Rowan Literacy Council.

Play to Learn
Provides play groups for parents and their young children to support social emotional and cognitive development at a variety of community site throughout the county.  Services provided by Smart Start Rowan.  Please e-mail Varina Bunts, or call 704-603-3351. 

Community Inclusion Specialists
Provides support groups, workshops and individual assistance for families who have children with developmental concerns or special needs.

Parents as Teachers 
Offers home visits to provide parents with the knowledge and skills needed to help prepare their children for success in school.

Strengthening Families
Provides group parent education classes, support and education for at-risk families to help prevent child abuse and neglect.

Smart Start Rowan offers a wealth of valuable services for families, including:
